Steve Schapiro has what you’d call an artful eye for the moment. The Chicago photographer and photojournalist has created iconic images from the last half of the 20th century that are burned in our collective conscious — the Selma to Montgomery March, Robert Kennedy’s run for the White House, Andy Warhol in his Factory, and Hollywood legends from Buster Keaton to Robert DeNiro. A new exhibition of his work opens Friday at Berlanga Fine Art and Photographs in River North. Schapiro joins us to talk about his work, including a new book takes the viewer deep inside the world of modern hippies. (WBEZ/Jason Marck)
