Students celebrate MLK Day with an examination of protest methods

As the nation prepares to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., there’s an important part of his activism that remains present in the public dialogue-the power of protest. Students from the Chicago area meet Friday with legal scholars, police, the ACLU and Civil Rights historians to better understand their rights when they choose to demonstrate. The Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago organized the event and Executive Director Nisan Chavkin explains why young people need this knowledge now more than ever. (Photo: Flickr/@mjb)
