For the first time, people wanting to sit on a suburban Chicago school board didn’t have to go to their specified municipality. Would be candidates hoping to be on the April ballot can visit four sites set up by the Cook County Clerk’s Office to vie for more than 140 boards. More than 700 people are expected to file candidate paperwork by the deadline next Monday at 5 p.m. WBEZ’s Yolanda Perdomo visited one of the registration sites in western Cook County and she joins us for more on these municipal elections.
