Thanks to an anonymous good deed, the heat is back on at Clara’s Place
The women’s shelter Clara's Place went about two weeks without heat or hot water due to unpaid gas bills until an anonymous donor paid the more than $30,000 that the shelter owed People’s Gas. While many are celebrating the generosity, the incident is just one in a long list of struggles that women’s shelters face everyday. We talk with the founder and owner of Clara’s Place, Clara Kirk, about the anonymous donation and how she plans to keep the heat on for the Englewood shelter.
