The Claudettes are 95 percent pure musical fun, 5 percent inside joke and stage act. The piano-drum combo of Johnny Iguana and Michael Caskey (respectively) bring a 21st century sense of style and showmanship to an early-to-mid-twentieth century sound. It’s a sort of evolved boogie-woogie – edges smoothed out, and informed by the styles it helped inform. We’ll get into the backstory of the band’s name, and find out how these two, highly accomplished musicians came about this partially vaudevillian group.
