For several years now, the Fat Babies have been giving the jazz sounds of the early 20th century a warm embrace. The seven-piece ensemble performs music inspired by Chicago-style jazz from the 1920s. Founder Beau Sample, a Texas native, says he fell in love with the music back in the Lone Star State. There, he’d hear the music of country artist Bob Wills and the western swing of the time, and that led him to Louisiana and Chicago jazz artists.
