In December of 2016, the Chicago Tribune published a major piece of investigative journalism that showed pharmacies across the area were filling prescriptions for drugs that, taken together, could have dangerous or deadly consequences.

More than half of the prescriptions were dispensed without a warning to the patient.

A new report shows that many of the companies behind these pharmacies — including CVS and Walgreens — were paying attention and have either made significant changes to their policies or given their pharmacists additional training.

Ray Long, one of the Tribune reporters behind the investigation, joins us for an update.
