Tribune Investigation Shows Pharmacists Fail To Warn Customers Of Dangerous Combos

When you walk into a pharmacy two things are expected by customers: the prescription will be filled quickly and safely. But according to an investigation by The Chicago Tribune, the two are not always mutually exclusive.

Over two years, they tested 255 chain and independent pharmacies in the area to see if pharmacists would hand over dangerous combinations of prescriptions without mentioning any potentially dangerous interactions. A whopping 52% of pharmacies filled the medications without a warning.
