UIC Creates Blueprint To Reduce Homelessness In LGBTQ Youth

In the U.S. there are about one million teens who are homeless, and 40 percent of them identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning. The Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago has created a blueprint for how to help those young people find more stable housing. The online platform is called 3/40 Blueprint.

Morning Shift sits down with Henrika McCoy, principal investigator of 3/40 Blueprint and Dawnn Tirani-Brumfield, a youth worker supervisor at The Crib, an emergency overnight shelter that welcomes young people of all genders and sexual orientations.
