Understanding pedophilia in wake of priest sex abuse case

Last week, attorneys for victims of priest sex abuse released internal documents from the Archdiocese of Chicago. The files show a pattern of the Archdiocese shifting abusive priests from parish to parish, and taking years to remove them from the priesthood. Abuse survivors and their attorneys call this a cover-up that lasted decades and continues today. The Archdiocese says it made mistakes, and was following standards for treatment of the era. To understand more about pedophilia, how it’s treated and how our understanding of the condition has changed we talk to Dr. Fred Berlin, Director of Sexual Behavior Consultation Unit at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
