Morning Shift


This Sunday is Mother’s Day when a lot of us try to make breakfast for dear old mom. If you don’t want to mess up too many pots and pans in the process, you might consider cooking it up in a waffle iron, but we’re not just talking waffles. WBEZ’s Monica Eng recently caught up with former Chicago writer Dan Shumski who was in town giving cooking lessons for his book called Will It Waffle? In it he shares dozens of recipes for cookies, fritters, meats, falafel and, yes, even bacon and eggs -all cooked in a waffle iron.
