A new investigation by WBEZ and the Better Government Association has found that no discipline was taken against officers in 113 police shootings in suburban Cook County over the last 13 years.

Police shootings in Chicago have been in the spotlight, but similar shootings in the suburbs have avoided that attention. Until now.

Morning Shift talked to the three reporters behind the investigation. Patrick Smith is WBEZ’s criminal justice reporter. Casey Toner is an investigator with the BGA. Jared Rutecki is an investigator and data coordinator with the BGA.
