A Chicago Police officer fatally shot 24-year-old Maurice Granton last month and video released Wednesday challenges the department’s account of the incident, according to attorneys for the family.

The Chicago City Council voted to rename Congress Parkway in honor of journalist and anti-lynching crusader Ida B. Wells and Ald. Ricardo Munoz introduced an ordinance centered on CPD's gang database.

Plus, Chicago-based newspaper giant Tronc cut 50 percent of the New York Daily News staff.
