The Supreme Court struck down a 1992 law Monday that prevented sports gambling across much of the country, opening the door to a legal industry that could generate hundreds of billions of dollar in annual revenue. Illinois is one of more than a dozen states that has already been working on legislation to legalize betting on sports in anticipation of Monday’s ruling.
