Morning Shift

A production by the Chicago DanzTheatre Ensemble takes on violence in the city, filtered through an ancient lens. Playwright Nambi E. Kelley re-imagines the Greek tragedy of Antigone, into the modern day character, Xtigone. This is the Midwest premiere of Xtigone. The play uses dance and hip hop poetry to reflect on guns and gang violence in Chicago. We talk about the work with Ellyzabeth Adler, Executive Director and Founder at Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble and actress and playwright Nambi E. Kelley. (Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble)
