Slate recently published The Black Film Canon, a list of 50 films by black directors curated by a panel that included Henry Louis Gates Jr., Wesley Morris, and Ava DuVernay. Slate Culture Writer Aisha Harris helped spearhead the project, so she sat down with host Linda Holmes to highlight some of the films on the list.
