Both stories in this episode ...

Both stories in this episode were originally presented in the 2006 Stories on Stage special event, People With Problems: Stories From The Paris Review.  The event was hosted by The Paris Review editor, Philip Gourevitch, and the actors were directed by Stories on Stage veteran , Judy O'Malley.

First, in Lisa Halliday's "Stump Louie" we travel back in time to when people gathered around the radio to listen to more than just the news, but also variety shows, comedies, detective series, and quiz shows.  In this story, a child piano prodigy captures the attention of all New York, listening to the game called "Stump Louie."  William Brown reads.

In the second story, "Birthmark" by Miranda July, explores the sometimes unexpected emotional consequences of changing one's physical apperance in an age when cosmetic surgery seems to be a common cure all for everything.  Martha Lavey reads.
