In 2007, Michael Grover was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, at age 24. He had gotten engaged just a few days earlier. Though he didn’t want to hear it at the time, it was expected that he would survive for a year-and-a-half at most. 

Now, more than 11 years later, he’s still here, and he and his wife Lea  have three children. The couple came to the StoryCorps booth in the Chicago Cultural Center recently to talk about their relationship, and dying.
