Cathy Coughlin came to the StoryCorps booth in Chicago with her daughter Barbara on Mother’s Day weekend. Barbara’s father has never been a part of her life and she’s always wondered about it. Barbara’s 23 now and so she wanted to ask her mother about how it felt to be in her early thirties, pregnant and alone.
