Delphine Cherry has lost two of her four children to gun violence. She recently came to the StoryCorps booth at the Chicago Cultural Center to talk with another of her children, Tamika Howard, about living with the pain of those losses.
Their conversation is in conjunction with an exhibit at the Chicago Architecture Biennial memorializing gun violence victims. Delphine talked about the death of her oldest daughter, Tyesa, and the shock of the killing of her son 20 years later.
