On the corner of Lake Shore Drive and Sheridan is a high-rise for senior citizens called Hollywood House. Earlier this year, StoryCorps went out to record interviews with the people who live there and the staff who work there. Chloe Gremaud, 24, works for Heartland Housing, the group that runs the complex. She interviewed Rosalind Easton, 64, one of the residents of Hollywood House. They talked about how Easton’s childhood and her relationship with her mother informed her own parenting.

This recording was made possible through a partnership between StoryCorps Chicago and Heartland Housing, a company of the Heartland Alliance. Special thanks to Anne Ford for facilitating.
