Twelve-year-old Timothy Bannon and his mom Linda were born without arms. That’s forced them to be creative — whether they’re cooking, riding bikes or dealing with strangers.

Last month, the Timothy and Linda came to the StoryCorps booth in the Chicago Cultural Center. Linda talked about her hopes for her son and what it’s like to be the subject of a lot of curious attention.
