Two years ago Lauren Wilson was living in public housing in Indiana when she came across a flyer. It was for a training program that helped women to become doulas, or birthing coaches. She applied for the program and was interviewed by Molly Mendota. The two spoke for this week’s StoryCorps about their work and how Lauren felt when she went in for the training.
