Eboo Patel (Couresy of StoryCorps)
Eboo Patel was born in India and came to the United States with his parents when he was two years old. At the time, Patel’s father was completing his MBA at the University of Notre Dame. Patel is the founder of Interfaith Youth Core, a Chicago-based nonprofit that encourages collaboration among college students from different religious backgrounds. When Patel stopped by the StoryCorps booth in September, he talked about how the seeds of his work with the Interfaith Youth Core were sown from his own experiences at school.

This story was recorded in partnership with the Muslim American Leadership Alliance.

StoryCorps’ mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to share, record and preserve their stories. These excerpts, edited by WBEZ, present some of our favorites from the current visit, as well as from previous trips.
