Join hip-hop poets Kevin Coval and Idris Goodwin as they present a selection of the best pieces performed as part of the 2007 Louder Than a Bomb Teen Poetry Festival. More than 350 youth participants representing 48 schools and community centers participated in this year’s competition, with the title taken by northwest side Steinmetz Academic Centre. As the 2007 winners, Steinmetz traveled to San Jose, CA, July 17-21 to represent Chicago in the 10th Annual Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival. Hear their winning piece, recorded live at the final round of competition, along with over a dozen other individual and group pieces recorded both live and in-studio at Chicago Public Radio.
