It’s one thing for a government to provide benefits for those in need. It’s another for those that are eligible to get access. In 2010, nearly a quarter of people who could have signed up for food stamps didn’t participate in the program. That’s the problem a new Chicago startup decided to tackle. mRelief makes it easier for citizens to find and register for social services, including a texting option for those without internet access.
