Smart technology could help save cyclists

Cycling in a city like Chicago can be dangerous. More than two-thirds of cyclist fatalities in 2012 happened in urban areas. And as a state, Illinois had the fifth-highest total in the nation. Now some automakers are trying to build cars that can sense cyclists and alert the driver before a crash happens.
