The next revolution in agriculture could center around data. Some call it big data, others are calling precision farming. But the idea is that all the information about what goes in and comes out of fields could help growers make better decisions. Agribusiness companies such as Monsanto and DuPont are introducing new services to do just that. But as St. Louis Public Radio’s Maria Altman reports, questions remain over whether it’s a smart move for farmers to share information with agribusiness. Plus, we look at Ventra’s #AskVentra Twitter call-out. Yesterday Ventra held a Twitter chat for customers to ask questions about the CTA’s new fare system using the hashtag Ask Ventra. What they got were thousands of tweets from Chicagoans mostly mocking the agency, with a few serious questions thrown in. WBEZ web producer Chris Hagan broke down the numbers on the chat.
