In Chicago we like to celebrate how our neighborhoods are made up of different communities and cultures. But our neighborhoods are also made up of different types of housing. The feel of a neighborhood can change whether it’s full of 3-flats or single family homes. All these different kinds of housing stock are an important indicator of how neighborhoods have fared during the housing crisis. Last week the DePaul Institute for housing Studies released a new map to explore this data and what it means for Cook County. Joining us now to talk about it is IHS Executive Director Geoff Smith.
