The City of Chicago uses algorithms for all kinds of things, but not always for what you would imagine. For example, they use 31 different variables to predict rodent outbreaks in Chicago neighborhoods. That type of problem solving is the job, Tom Schenk, the City of Chicago’s Director of Analytics and Performance.
