Tech Shift: Software malfunction riles bar exam takers

Can you imagine the entire culmination of your legal education ends with you sitting for the bar exam? And then, when you finish your answers and hit submit, it doesn’t work? To me that sounds pretty much like a horrible nightmare. Except it actually happened not just here in Illinois but in 15 other states yesterday - the first day of the bar exam. In some cases, it was a delay, in others outright failures as graduates fought to turn in their answers. Exam Soft, the company that provides the software, has since apologized and says the system is working again. Exam deadlines have also been extended in Illinois, students have until 9 o’clock tonight. Erica Moser, President of National Conference of Bar Examiners, and David Lat, founder and managing editor of the legal blog Above the Law, join us to discuss what this all means.
