Tech Shift: The secret world of international cyber-espionage
Yesterday’s federal indictment of five Chinese military hackers has brought the world of international cyber-crime into the public eye. The indictment was not just for hacking, but for what the Dept. of Justice described as economic espionage and other offenses against companies that include U.S. Steel, Westinghouse and Alcoa. It has also brought an international spotlight to the perpetrators, specifically, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
