It’s the beginning of baseball season, and both the Sox and the Cubs have good prospects. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks and the Bulls are focused on making the playoffs. We talked sports with Cheryl Rae Stout. Then, we heard about a young rugby team based on the West Side of Chicago that’s beating the odds. We spoke with: • head coach of the Kipp Ascend Mountain Lions Rugby team, Andy Schmitz, • 8th grader Johnari Smith, who’s a team captain, and • Patrick Ross, one of the captains from last year’s team. He’s a freshman this year at Chicago Hope, and he is playing rugby for them now. Plus, we heard from the founder of the Black Women’s Expo.
