One of the most legendary artists to come out of Chicago is Curtis Mayfield. He was a songwriter, performer and record label owner. And his music inspired us all. The Black Ensemble Theater’s current production, “It’s All-Right to Have a Good Time: The Story of Curtis Mayfield” explores the life of the Chicago soul legend. Cecil Jones, Reginald Torian, Sr. and guitarist Herb Walker—all members of the cast—joined us sing to Mayfield’s life and praise. George Daniels of George’s Music Room talked more about Mayfield’s real life, especially here in Chicago. The “Barber Shop Show” airs on Fridays and Saturdays at Noon on 90.7FM and 89.5FM.
