In honor of Vocalo’s new bureau in Little Village, we’re dedicating this week’s show to the community. First, Richard speaks with August Sallas of the Little Village Community Council and Nilda Esparza of the Little Village Chamber of Commerce. They talk about the surrounding controversy about a clock that was given to Little Village from Mexico back in 1991. Sallas and Esparza talk past, present and future plans for the staple and it’s impact on the community. Oscar Chacon of the National Alliance of Latin American & Caribbean Communities sheds insight on immigration issues and how they impact members of not just Little Village, but the nation. Pastor Victor Rodriguez of the Chicago Youth Boxing Club talks about how the club provides a safe space for at-risk youth. Pictured: Victor Rodriguez of the Chicago Youth Boxing Club
