On this installment of the Barber Shop Show, we’ll talk about all that’s fit to print in the world of sports, from the Baseball Season’s opening week, to The Bulls’ hopes for a post-season. We’ll also talk about the new Jackie Robinson Bio-pic, “42”. The movie is in theaters April 12th. We’ll be joined at the shop by WBEZ’s sports analyst Cheryl Rae Stout, WBEZ’s Jason Marck, and Vocalo.org’s own film critic Reggie Ponder (the Reel Critic). Plus, we will talk to some folks from Northwestern University’s Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. They are holding a State of the Cancer Union Conference at Malcolm X College next week, and will be at the shop to talk about some key aspects of black male health concerns and cancer prevention. The Barber Shop Show airs live from Carter’s Barber Shop in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood on Fridays at Noon. http://vocalo.org 89.5fm (NWI/CHI) and 90.7fm (CHI).
