In this installment of the Barber Shop Show, we pay tribute to Bert Downing, owner of Carter’s Barbershop, where we’ve broadcast our show for the past five years. Bert, like his mentor Carter before him, was a pillar of the North Lawndale community. He was a supporter of Vocalo from the beginning. We hear from family, childhood friends, and members of the community as they share stories about the life and legacy of Bert Downing.
