The pundits and analysts are lining up local talk show appearances to give their opinion on who stands to benefit the most from the Appellate court decision to keep Rahm Emanuel off the ballot. But really, the winner has to be Alderman Ed Bus. The fictional alderman (and my alter-ego) is running for mayor after a long tenure representing the 53rd Ward. The 53rd is fictional, too. But that hasn’t stopped the machine alderman for running a campaign for mayor. Will he win? Hey, his odds just went up.

In episode #5 of the web-series “The 53rd Ward”, Alderman Ed Bus meets up for his regular Tuesday night dinner with his best-friend, former 42nd Ward Alderman Burt Natarus. They meet in the back of the Ed Bus Chophouse to talk shop. Bus needs some ideas, Natarus has plenty.

It’s like “My Dinner with Andre,” but instead of Andre, it’s Burt Natarus.

The 53rd Ward is a web-series produced by Schadenfreude. This episode was directed by Steve Delahoyde. No animals, actors or alderman were harmed (or paid) during the filming of this series.
