At the risk of adding to the Muppets publicity juggernaut — where are Statler and Waldorf to put the hype in perspective? — I want to note how great it is that local T-shirt and arts community Threadless are behind a series of official Muppets shirts.

The shirts, designed and chosen by members of the Threadless community, are pretty fantastic.  And they seem to satisfy all the branding needs of Disney without losing the spirit of Threadless. Plus, going back to Statler and Waldorf, how great is this shirt of them where the T-shirt pocket should be?

Not too long ago, on the occasion of Threadless’ 10th anniversary, co-founder Jake Nickell appeared on The Interview Show and offered a nice look at a company that’s succeeded by doing things the right way.
