If Bill & Walter can do it, why not Bob & Marianne?

Ten years after they anchored their last newscast together on WFLD-Channel 32, husband-and-wife Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano will be teamed up again on the Fox-owned station.

Murciano is expected to fill in for Robin Robinson alongside Sirott on Fox Chicago’s 9 p.m. newscast Friday, Nov. 5. The couple met and married during their six-year run as co-hosts of the critically acclaimed “Fox Thing in the Morning” from 1994 to 2000.

“We never got to do a last show together, so this will be our chance,” Murciano said Wednesday. “It’ll be fun for a night, but after that — Robin can have him!”

Murciano was on maternity leave after the birth of the couple’s daughter, Daniela, when Tamron Hall replaced her on the morning show in May 2000. When Murciano returned to the station, she was reassigned to the noon newscast. Sirott was forced out in September of that year, and Murciano left the following March.

Sirott rejoined Channel 32 as principal news anchor last July after stints at NBC-owned WMAQ-Channel 5 and Window to the World Communications’ WTTW-Channel 11. During his run as host of Channel 11’s “Chicago Tonight” from 2002 to 2005, Murciano made occasional appearances with Sirott.

In the interim, the two have maintained their broadcast partnership on radio — first on the former WCKG and more recently on Tribune Co.-owned news/talk WGN-AM (720), where they continue to host “The Sunday Night Radio Special,” a one-hour interview show at 10 p.m. Sundays.

Earlier this year, Murciano launched “How To Train Your Man,” a website, blog and series of videos offering insight and advice about relationships.
