Dave Robbins, the onetime Chicago disc jockey who became vice president and general manager of multiple CBS Radio stations here, has been named senior vice president and market manager of the company’s three-station cluster in Orlando.

In making the announcement Thursday, Scott Herman, executive vice president of operations, said: “Dave is an outstanding broadcaster and [CBS Radio president] Dan [Mason] and I have been eager to find the right senior leadership role for him within our company.‚ We believe that Orlando is the right next step in his accomplished career.”

Robbins, who most recently headed country WUSN-FM (99.5) and adult contemporary WCFS-FM (105.9), will not be replaced. Instead, his duties will be assumed by Rod Zimmerman, senior vice president and market manager of CBS Radio in Chicago.

Early in his career, Robbins worked as a disc jockey, assistant program director and music director at CBS Radio’s contemporary-hit 40 WBBM-FM (96.3). He returned to Chicago in 2003 to become vice president and general manager of both B96 and oldies WJMK-FM (104.3). He subsequently headed US 99.5 and WCFS, as well as CBS Radio’s digital operations in Chicago.
