Last night’s hailstorm caught many Chicagoans by surprise. There was very little advance warning, but that didn’t stop our Flickr group members from attempting to document the storm. My favorite shot is this first one from Erin Nekervis- it evokes the strangeness of ice falling from the sky in the summer.
This close up by Seth Anderson shows the culprit clearly.
Much more common were shots of lightning- a perennial pursuit for many photographers. Here are a few successful shots from our group.
