3. Stefon is coming to Chicago! No, that’s not even close to true, but there’s an interview with the co-creator of the popular SNL character, John Mulaney, in the Reader. Not only was Mulaney one of the few to live here and not take advantage of the comedy scene, he says that when he’s home, he doesn’t know where to go out and eat because he eats with his parents. He also has a Comedy Central special and a new album, so he’s not a total noob.
4. Columnist Neil Steinberg has written a scene from play where and he Brian Dennehy express excitement about The Iceman Cometh and the Sun-Times has published it. God, people will publish anything these days. (In actuality, it is quite charming.)
5. The latest in a series we’re calling Chicagoans Leave Chicago and See Theater in a Place That is Not Chicago brought Bob Bullen to London, where he saw Crazy for You and Ghost the Musical — and didn’t hate the latter!
