I like this. Actor/rapper Ice Cube walks us through the work of midcentury design luminaries Charles and Ray Eames.

Don’t snicker. Cube tried his hand at architectural drafting in trade school back in the 1980s.

“In a world of McMansions—where structure takes up all the land—the Eames made structure and nature one,” Cube says in the video as he strolls the grounds of Eames House in Los Angeles. “This is going green 1949-style, bitch. Believe that.” We do.

The video was created for Pacific Standard Time, an event that began in October to celebrate the Los Angeles art scene’s groundbreaking years between 1945 and 1990. The NYT’s Q&A with Ice Cube on the Eameses and design is worth checking out.
