  • Chicago Originals Restaurant Week (more like two weeks) begins today. Participating restaurants are offering three and four-course fixed menus for $29.10, until the 31st. For a list of participating restaurants, check out their website.
  • If you’re driving around Oak Brook and jonesing for some Italian pastries, check out the new Labriola Pasticerria, located within the Labriola Bakery Café. The all new Pasticerria features traditional homemade Italian pastries, occasion cakes and a private party room. The cases are filled with owner Rich Labriola’s favorites, such as cannoli, tiramisu and Italian cookies like his nonna used to make.
  • On Tuesdays this month, D.O.C. Wine Bar is offering $30 “Prix-Fixe Tuesdays.”‚  The three-course dinner is paired withwines; tax and tip not included.‚  Call 773-883-5101 for reservations (although they’re not required). This prix-fixe menu will also be available to guests dining at the adjacent Dunlays on Clark restaurant. Here’s tomorrow night’s menu:

Salmon Tartare, Wonton Chip, Cilantro Oil Catena Chardonnay

Grilled Flat Iron, Zucchini-Cumin Puree, Cauliflower Hash Belasco de Baquedano “Old Vines” Malbec

  • If you’re looking for a Wednesday night deal, check out the “Suzy Special” every Wednesday night at Crofton on Wells, when chef Suzy Crofton offers an off-the-menu deal for $20, but only if you ask for the “Suzy Special.”
