Almost 18 million U.S. households had difficulty providing food for their families last year, according to a new study — and local agencies say families in Cook County are no exception.

War journalists report having symptoms of post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health complications stemming from what they see during their reporting.  But the effects are not limited to traditional war zones. WBEZ’s Worldview looked into how PTSD affects journalists covering Mexican drug cartels.
