It’s got a Rotten Tomato meter rating of 98 percent, which means I’m basically the one percent in this country, given a one percent margin of error. It’s sort of like being in the top one percent of wage-earners, in that everyone hates you and thinks that you’re ruining everything for everyone. Except unlike the top bracket, I’m not insulated by obscene wealth by the hoards of people who believe that I’m the a**hole.

So. I will now cope with this social ostracism by reading a curt, scornful essay about how the new muppets movie basically functions as a cruelly apt metaphor for everything else that is wrong with America.

This Saturday at the Horseshoe is one of the last times you can see the Machete in December, before the holiday winds of change sweep us all away. They’ll be talking about Blago, obviously, and the line-up includes Madame Barker’s Cabaret (Molly Brennan and John Fournier); Occupiers Art and Nancy Brennan; Chad the Bird; comedian Cameron Esposito; Kate James and Steve Waltien of The Second City and WBEZ’s Claire Zulkey.
