Big Bowl is celebrating Chinese New Year’s this year with five days of dining specials and festivities.

From Feb. 11 to Feb. 15, guests can order from a special menu of “lucky” foods including:

Spicy Roasted Peanuts

Peanuts are one of the many foods that symbolize fertility. The Chinese name for the legume also translates into “longevity fruit,” making it an ideal snack. The peanuts, roasted in-house, are complimentary.

Blood Orange Ginger ale

Big Bowl’s signature house-made ginger ale accompanied by blood orange juice.

Tiger Shrimp and Chive Dumplings

The shape of dumplings symbolize gold ingots, thus wealth, in the‚ New‚ Year.

Tea-Smoked Duck with Long Noodles and Chinese Chives

Duck represents marital bliss while noodles symbolize long life.

Chinese Almond Cookies

The nuts in these crunchy cookies represent a close knit family.

To continue the celebration, on Saturday Feb. 13, Big Bowl’s Lincolnshire, IL location will offer a complimentary dumpling cooking class. All participants will also receive a bag of Big Bowl’s chicken dumplings/potstickers. In Chinese culture, dumplings represent wealth and prosperity.
