Video: Why we need people like Amy Krouse Rosenthal (today, more than ever before)
I heard a Penn State board member say they had to fire Paterno because of the "media frenzy." Add to that the student outrage directed at the media and it seems like locals are trying to blame this scandal on a familiar target.
This terrible, terrible, terrible story doesn't need hype. Everyone is talking about it. When my wife chokes up talking about it and co-workers have to walk away from conversations, it's not because CNN is telling them to. This story makes the human spirit want to throw up.
There's no way around it. There's no way to explain it. America is hurt. There's no more love left in the room.
Enter Amy Krouse Rosenthal.
If you are looking for an uplifting experience, come to Millennium Park at 11am today. It's Amy Krouse Rosenthal's Beckoning of Lovely show, which is tied to the launch of Amy's crowdsourced film. It's free. It's live. It's special.
We've been along for the ride for the past three years, all leading up to today. Check these videos out (below) from 8/8/08, 9/9/09 and 10/10/10. The Beckoning of Lovely is about finding love in your life. Whether it be a tiny experience in your morning commute or a large moment of epiphany with a relationship. It's about stopping for a second and recognizing moments. Not in a Hallmark kind of way. But in a real way. Like right now. Stop for a second and look around.
I believe we need Amy more than ever today.
Drumroll, please!!!!!! It's 11/11/11. The Beckoning of Lovely has been released! Here's the first part on YouTube. Enjoy.
