You probably know playwright, screenwriter and all around funny man Peter Sagal as the host of NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me.

Since 1998, he’s been at the helm of the public radio news quiz show, which is heard by nearly three million listeners on the radio, and about a million more via podcast.

Or maybe you’ve read his book, or seen his column in Runner’s World magazine.

But before all that, Peter was a young writer, living in a studio apartment in Los Angeles, trying to figure it all out.

So where was he at 25?

Peter recently shared his story with host Rick Kogan and WBEZ Morning Producer Lauren Chooljian on The Afternoon Shift

What life-changing stuff happened to Peter that year? And how did he get to where he is today?

Listen to find out.
